Ferrules
Description
Ferrules are metal sleeves used to create secure terminations on wire ropes by compressing or swaging them onto the cable. Typically made from aluminum, copper, or stainless steel, ferrules are a critical component in rigging, lifting, and cable assemblies, forming strong eye loops or joining rope ends. When properly installed, they offer high holding strength and resistance to slipping, making them suitable for safety-critical applications.
Most Common Applications
- Lifting & Rigging: Used to create secure loop ends in wire rope slings and lifting assemblies.
- Marine & Offshore: Ideal for forming terminations in mooring lines, sailing rigging, and marine cables.
- Construction & Infrastructure: Utilized in suspension bridges, safety barriers, and structural cable systems.
- Transport & Logistics: Applied in cargo restraint systems and tie-down applications.
- Utility & Equipment Maintenance: Used in overhead line construction, winch cables, and cable assemblies for various equipment.
